| Overlaying digital photographs
and IR images One of the problems that can arise with IR-images is that the surface anatomy of the object becomes unclear. In order to better correlate an IR image with surface anatomy there are computer programmes available which allow one to merge together an IR-image with a normal digital photograph. The degree of merging can be regulated. In the sample below the degree of merging shown in the 2 images below is 50/50, although other merging combinations, e.g. 20% IR-iage and 80% photographic image can also be made. |

| The 2 merged images on the right hand side of the table were based on their respective thermograms and photographic images.
